A Corner of Her Eye

producer: Konrad Aderer
22 minutes, MiniDV, 2006
Three brothers ride out Hurricane Katrina in their father’s house in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. An intimate, spooky family portrait that starts as a father’s adventurous challenge and rapidly turns to a fight for survival.

"The brothers provide choice insights on dad’s use of Hurricane Katrina as part of his larger Psyops training program for his sons...This amazing footage provides a strong narrative structure and is amplified craftfully with background alarm noise and ambient panic."
-- Amy Wolf, The Indypendent

My brothers and I were far luckier than we deserved, to experience the full fury of Katrina and not only survive but document this history-making storm on video. So it's only right that this footage be used to help the communities of the Gulf Coast rebuild, which they will be doing for years to come.

Habitat for Humanity has been a significant, effective and well-organized relief organization with major efforts in the Gulf Coast.
